“Rose is a talented, well-educated, compassionate, patient and agile academic coach. She is an excellent problem-solver who goes the extra mile to really understand the root of challenges and to try different strategies to help until she unlocks success. She literally changed my son’s way of studying and working leading to dramatic improvement in his grades, confidence and engagement. She really wants individuals to succeed. She demonstrates generous and genuine care, excellent listening skills and creative angles connected to evidence-based research. As a result of her pre- and post-evaluations, detailed meetings as needed throughout each week and a family-approach, we see terrific improvement for our son and it’s impacted his outlook on life and the future. Thank you, Rose! We look forward to continued work with you!”

“Rose is one of the most compassionate and patient people I know. She listens to what people have to say and then she does everything possible to try to help solve their problems with her tremendous knowledge of how the brain works and what skills people need to succeed. That is what happened when she took on my son as a client. She listened to everything I had to say and understood what he would need to be a successful college student. She understood he lacked executive functioning skills and this was greatly impacting his ability to navigate the college world. She has been working with him since his Junior year and the amount of growth I have seen in him in such a short amount of time is proof that what she does works. He is more confident and sure of his abilities due to what she has taught him in their weekly sessions. He understands how to map out projects over multiple days, what order tasks need to be completed in to ensure a successful outcome, how to advocate for himself with his professors and most importantly he’s happier. He has had both successes and some failures, but because of the work Rose has done with him those failures have led to more growth. I could not be happier with the services Rose provides and would highly recommend her to any family who is looking for some help with their child.”
Here is what my son has to say about his sessions with Rose.
“After a brief cognitive assessment, she discovered that I needed explicit instruction in executive functioning skills and time management. She understood exactly how to help me. I have never been so stress free when it comes to school work in my life. She completely fixed my procrastination problem with a weekly planner. With comprehensive weekly meetings, I acquired the skills I need to truly succeed in life not just in college. She has assisted me in passing the hardest upper level classes and managing a good school life balance. Rose completely changed the trajectory of my college career in a positive way. I know I will graduate in May 2022 with a better understanding of what skills work for me and what don’t. I would recommend Rose to anyone needing a boost in any area of executive functioning.”

Rose is an extremely caring, understanding, and patient academic coach. My son was in college and struggling with his time management and organization skills which resulted in poor grades. With Rose’s expertise, she was able to keep my son organized with his classwork using a weekly planning guide and meeting with him bi-weekly (more when needed). In addition to their meetings, she also encouraged him to text her at any time with questions or worries, always making herself available. Rose kept my son on task and broke down his class work into manageable pieces. She was able to give him strategies to break down his assignments and not feel overwhelmed. After each session, she emailed me a full outline of what my son completed before they met, and what was worked on and completed during the session. My son received excellent grades while working with Rose and was able to graduate on time. He is now preparing to start a master’s program. The strategies Rose has taught him and his knowledge of how to use a planning guide has him feeling confident about taking these next steps in his education. We are so thankful for Rose, and I highly recommend her.

“Rose is an extremely talented, patient, and creative executive function coach. During her initial evaluation, Rose identified the individual needs of our daughter and outlined strategies and skills she felt were important for our daughter to learn to be successful in school. Rose was able to align with our teen and keep her engaged with her encouraging, compassionate approach. After just a few sessions, we began to notice our daughter implementing the strategies that Rose had taught her. With these new tools, our daughter’s academic confidence improved greatly and her grades soon followed. We have continued to work with Rose over the last 2 years because the growth in executive function skills has been so helpful to our teen. Meeting with Rose at regular intervals, our daughter has gained confidence and independence and is becoming more skilled at developing her own new successful organizational strategies as her academic and planning challenges evolve. With Rose’s support, she continues to improve in her ability to balance her academic workload and manage her own activities and work schedule. We are so thankful for Rose and look forward to continuing to work with her!”

“Rose has been an invaluable part of helping my daughter with her executive functioning challenges. Rose compassionately and skillfully helped her understand her own needs and taught her strategies to help with organization and memory. Rose helped me advocate for testing with the school and assisted me in understanding the test results. She was able to participate in the IEP meeting and was instrumental in my daughter being granted services at school, something that was denied in the first meeting when Rose was not present. Rose articulately used clear data and examples from her weekly sessions to convey my daughter’s needs to the team. She was able to communicate her learning profile to them in a way that they could see her needs and how academic support would help her be a successful student. Without Rose, my daughter would not have been able to navigate the transition to high school. Rose was mindful of her confidence and always celebrated her accomplishments. I truly cannot say enough about Rose as a person and as an Executive Function coach. She is amazing!”

“During the middle of his sophomore year, our son was officially diagnosed with ADHD, inattentive type. Although this diagnosis helped explain his struggles with organizing and follow through on his academic tasks, it was only the first step. The next crucial step was having our son start working with Rose Lucey. During the second half of his sophomore year, she helped him develop organizational strategies which have really been effective in managing his life. We look forward to having our son continue to work with Rose as he enters his junior year!”

“Rose has had an incredible impact on the improvement of my 8th grade son’s executive functioning skills. She took the time to understand his specific needs by reviewing materials such as his IEP and neuropsych evaluation, by talking with me as the parent, and even more importantly by talking with my son. She has some terrific visual aids to help him understand his own executive functioning strengths and challenges, and then provides him with a toolkit of strategies to address everything from organizing his weekly agenda, to successfully completing a long-term assignment that illustrates his best work and is not done last minute! Not only is the result better grades, but more importantly, my son feels proud of his work, and is starting to build confidence in his own capabilities!”

“My son is a very good student and had good grades all through high school. As he prepared to leave for college, I had this nagging feeling he still could use some time management skills to help him organize his work with all the newly unstructured time he’d face in college. I wanted him to understand how the work load shifts from teacher initiated in high school to student determined in college. He agreed to do an initial consultation and surprisingly found the time with Rose to be an educational and informative discussion, with practical suggestions that were immediately usable. She identified the areas that could be strengthened and came up with a system that quickly and easily could be implemented. She also offered remote support if needed once he began classes that could be initiated on his own when feeling overwhelmed. It was exactly the support I had hoped to give him while still encouraging independence in college. I would highly recommend her services.”
